“Many of the works in this exhibit have a new mixed media approach with crochet. Crochet is a medium I picked up as a teenager and it has always been there for me throughout my evolution as an artist… I am intrigued and also saddened by the modernization of society conflicting with the beauty and natural elements of this world. Even through the cold brutalism of modernization, nature still thrives in places we might not think, like a construction site or rain water runoff.”
“I am a multimedia artist and designer residing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. My artistic journey began as a means of coping with the abuse I endured early on in life. Over time, my art has evolved into a profound representation of my healing process, growth, and identity despite experiencing trauma.
Through my creations, I aspire to foster a sense of acknowledgment, visibility, and belonging for those who may feel marginalized; and to create artwork that speaks to the hearts of cuties, weirdos, and the unseen. I welcome others to find solace and inspiration in my work.” – Lightofalotus a.k.a. Lotus Vivirviel, Artist.
