Cut Knife Community School
This exhibit is a celebration of diversity—diversity of experience, of identity, of voice, and of vision. Some pieces offer deeply personal reflections of students’ cultures and individual journeys, while others explore broader ideas and issues we see throughout the world today.

This collaborative mosaic is made up of 128 individually crafted wooden tiles, created by the Grade 8 and 9 students at Cut Knife Community School during the second half of the 2023–2024 school year. Inspired by a traditional star blanket design, each tile represents a personal expression of identity, culture, and history, woven together to form a powerful collective story.

“Each artwork represents a step in a journey through the ages, reflecting the growth, exploration, and individuality that comes with learning and creating art at different stages of life.
Here, you will see the artistic voices of our youngest students beginning to emerge, alongside the more refined and complex expressions of our older students.” – CKCS Students and Staff.
