The Spare Room Gallery is a division of the Clayton McLain Memorial Museum but operates independently with its own organizing committee and finances. The Gallery is located at 113 Broad Street and shares the building with the Cut Knife Municipal Library and the Museum Admin. & Archives Centre.
The Gallery space is street-facing with windows that let in the natural light. It is slightly more than 150 square feet of floor space and has a 10 ft. ceiling. It is fitted with gallery-quality track lighting, a versatile hanging system, and security.
Mission
The Spare Room Gallery was established:
To create a publicly accessible visual arts space for the region’s artists and arts enthusiasts;
To showcase the rich diversity of artistic practice within the area’s cultural communities;
To inspire our youth and to promote public appreciation for the visual arts.
